What to do when you’re named a Top 100 firm
Congratulations! You’ve been featured in the New Model Adviser Top 100 or received a similar accolade. But now what?
In our experience, financial planning firms do a wonderful job putting themselves forward for awards, and then tend to squander the opportunities that could come about from being named a winner.
Here’s a few things you can do when you’re named an award winner or top 100 firm:
1 – Blog about it. Add a new blog, news or insights post to your website, along with a photo of the certificate/trophy and a few lines about what’s involved.
2 – Share it on social. Your Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram accounts need to be positively awash with the happy news. Don’t forget to use hashtags.
3 – Write to your clients. Not everyone will visit your website or social channels. Put pen to paper and write to your top clients to share the news.
4 – Write to your professional contacts too. Your presence in the Top 100 will help validate their decision to refer you to their clients.
5 – Send out a press release. The news will have been covered in the trade publication behind the awards. Let your local publications know about it too.
6 – Add stickers or a logo stamp to your envelopes. It only costs a tenner to get a custom rubber ink stamp made.
7 – And update your email signature too. We send more emails than letters these days, so a few words or a logo added to your email signature spreads the word effectively.
8 – Change your window display. If you’ve got High Street frontage, share the news in your front window.
9 – Celebrate with your staff. Your team are your ambassadors, so involve them in the achievement and empower them to spread the word.
Nine simple things you can do in the days, weeks and months following the good news, to ensure this external validation has maximum benefit for your business.
Do get in touch if we can help you leverage your appearance in the New Model Adviser Top 100 this year, or any other award win you have experienced. It deserves to be celebrated.
