During my 20 year career in the retail financial services profession, I’ve continually pushed the boundaries of digital and content marketing.
As a prolific personal finance writer and commentator, I’ve received multiple awards for my work, including Best Blogger of the Year and Best Social Media Adviser.
I launched the first personal finance podcast in the UK, wrote several bestselling books, and directed an award-winning feature-length documentary.
While content marketing is my first love, I’m also a Chartered Financial Planner (non-practicing) and Fellow of the Personal Finance Society, with responsibility for marketing and investment research at Informed Choice.
I launched Bamford Media in 2017 in response to growing demand from Financial Planners who wanted to access my content marketing expertise.
My background in Financial Planning means I’m equally at home talking about lifetime allowance issues and search engine optimisation.
I live in the Surrey Hills with my wife (a primary school teacher) and three young children, as well as a menagerie of pets (two Labradors, a horse, a cat, a hamster, and fish – at last count).
When away from the office, I’m chairman of a trust responsible for the creation of a 60-acre public parkland and vice president of my local Chamber of Commerce.
I feel most comfortable getting uncomfortable; swimming in lakes and rivers, taking part in ultra-distance trail races, and learning new skills.
