Fun at the Festival of Financial Planning
The first project for newly formed content marketing agency Bamford Media involved a drive up the M40, a couple of nights staying at the Hilton Metropole and two packed days of creating audio content at the Festival of Financial Planning.
When the Personal Finance Society got in touch about this project earlier in the year, we knew it would be a) nothing like any financial services conference we had been to before, and b) kind of a big deal. It didn’t disappoint.
The Glastonbury themed event attracted more than 3,000 financial planning professionals to the NEC Birmingham to hear from keynote speakers, meet with exhibitors and share best practice with colleagues.
Over the course of the two day event, Bamford Media created 39 new podcast episodes which were edited and published on site before being delivered straight to Apple Podcasts and a range of other podcasting platforms.
We interviewed everyone from keynote speakers to the house band, and shared these conversations on a streaming Internet Radio station which broadcast throughout the exhibition hall.
From our perspex walled studio on the edge of the Village Green, we supported this audio content with social media sharing, playing our part to help get #PFSFestival trending in the UK.
Festival Radio added a new dimension to this exciting festival format, engaging both delegates at the event itself and members of the Personal Finance Society who listened in from the comfort of their homes or offices.
The combination of weekly podcast episodes in the three months ahead of the Festival of Financial Planning and the creation of 39 episodes during the event itself resulted in more than 5,000 unique downloads for Festival Radio.
